Missouri PSC order on Wolf Creek decommissioning costs

On 4 January 2024 the Missouri Public Service Commission approved continuation of Evergy Missouri Metro's existing Wolf Creek decommissioning accrual and trust payment. The order is effective 3 February 2024. It does not permit a new reactor.

It approves the 15 December 2023 agreement, finds that the 2023 cost study meets the three-year nuclear-unit decommissioning study requirement, and finds that Evergy Missouri Metro's Missouri retail decommissioning accrual and trust payment continue at the existing level of $1,281,264. The file was ordered closed on 4 February 2024.

The order continues an existing decommissioning accrual for Wolf Creek. It does not permit a new reactor, approve construction, or change the accrual amount. The attached agreement was not treated as a second instrument.
