Montana legislative conditions for uranium conversion and enrichment

Montana's 2025 code authorizes siting of a uranium conversion or enrichment facility only when the statute's conditions, including a federal license for that fuel-cycle activity, are met. It is not a permit for a power reactor, and the compilation gives the 2025 chapter without a day.

Legal and geographic scope

The 2025 compilation says the legislature authorizes siting of a uranium conversion or enrichment facility only if the stated conditions are met. Those conditions include operation to convert and enrich uranium that was mined and milled in Montana or brought from outside the state, and a Nuclear Regulatory Commission license to convert and enrich. The history line is Chapter 503, Laws of 2025, with no day. The section defines uranium conversion and uranium enrichment. It does not mention a power reactor.

Not approved or still pending

No calendar effective date is printed. The section is not a power-reactor permit and does not name the Malmstrom proposal. Chapter 409 of the 2021 laws was not opened because the official PDF routes returned HTTP 404. The ionizing-radiation part and the executive order were not stored in this record.
