Legal and geographic scope

Order issued and effective 11 June 2026. It establishes a process led by the Department of Public Service to consider a nuclear reliability backbone. Staff must file a white paper within five months of the effective date. The order describes the state's four operating reactors, including Nine Mile Point 1 and 2, as existing generation of about 27.5 terawatt hours a year. That description is context, not a new approval.

Not approved or still pending

The five-month white-paper period is not converted to a date. The order does not approve a new reactor, a Nine Mile Point application, Fort Drum, or the North Tonawanda proposal. Public Authorities Law section 1005 returned HTTP 403 and was not retried. Assembly bill A.6705 was not stored in this pass.
