Legal and geographic scope

The official bill page records the governor's signature on 12 May 2025 for the South Carolina Energy Security Act. Section 46 says the act takes effect upon approval by the Governor. The act places the Governor's Nuclear Advisory Council in the SC Nexus for Advanced Resilient Energy at the Department of Commerce. The council reports to the governor. Its duties include advice on use, handling, transportation, storage, or disposal of nuclear materials in South Carolina. It has eleven members. This record is those council sections, not the rest of the act.

Not approved or still pending

The council advises. It does not approve the Savannah River proposals or any other project. Other Act 41 sections, including any small-modular definition and any permit-review deadline, are not this record. Sections 58-33-196 and the Base Load Review Act remain separate published records.
