Wyoming advanced nuclear reactor requirements

Wyoming's current advanced-nuclear section still requires a Nuclear Regulatory Commission license in its definition, bars on-site spent-fuel storage that does not meet Commission requirements, and limits state industrial siting where it would conflict with those requirements. Subsection (a) remains marked repealed by the 2022 act. The section does not approve a project.

Legal and geographic scope

Current Title 35 compilation. Subsection (a) and definition subparts (A) through (C) are marked repealed by Laws 2022, chapter 103, section 2. The remaining text requires Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements before on-site storage of that reactor's spent fuel or high-level waste, says the section does not affect Commission authority, defines an advanced nuclear reactor as one that improves on reactors in service before 1 January 2021 and has a Commission license, limits the Industrial Development Information and Siting Act where it would conflict with or duplicate Commission requirements, and requires a jobs report to the department at least 30 days before construction when another named report is not required.

Not approved or still pending

The compilation does not decide whether any construction permit meets the statute's license wording. It does not approve a reactor. Tax and cost-recovery sections from the 2022 act were not in the portion stored here. The department rules were not opened. No project is linked.
