Bolivia ABEN study on implementing small modular reactors (2025)

Bolivia's nuclear energy agency ABEN published a 2025 study on implementing small modular reactors in Bolivia, which reviews designs and proposes as one alternative adding 600 MW of SMR capacity to the national grid by 2035, with 300 MW in Santa Cruz department in 2030 and 300 MW in the west in 2035. It is a study, not a decision, it names regions, not sites, and no design or vendor is selected.

Not a deployment project. SMR plans, agreements, studies and government programmes that are not (yet) a single deployment project. They are listed separately and are never counted as projects or reactors.
