Colombia Ministry of Mines and Energy and IAEA memorandum covering nuclear planning and small modular reactors…

On 24 February 2026 in Cartagena, Colombia's Ministry of Mines and Energy and the IAEA signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding establishing technical cooperation on energy planning, nuclear infrastructure development and small modular reactors, to evaluate nuclear power as an option. It creates no financial obligations and names no project.

Not a deployment project. SMR plans, agreements, studies and government programmes that are not (yet) a single deployment project. They are listed separately and are never counted as projects or reactors.
