Finnish government-commissioned AFRY study on promoting nuclear energy, including SMR electricity and heat options…
Finland's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment commissioned AFRY in November 2025 to study options, costs and market effects of promoting nuclear energy, covering large reactors, SMR electricity and heat solutions, and life extensions. The report, submitted in March 2026, found heat-producing SMRs may be better placed for market-based implementation than new large plants. It is a study, not a programme decision.
