BARC Compact High Temperature Reactor (CHTR)
Historical 100 kWth (0.1 MWth) modular technology demonstrator described by BARC in 2013 for high-temperature process heat and hydrogen research. Lead-bismuth coolant, BeO moderator and solid TRISO fuel; distinct from BARC’s 5 MWth gas-cooled HTGCR and 600 MWth IHTR. The design description does not establish an installation, current development or electrical output.
Catalogue identity snapshot: 2013 (dated technical description; not confirmation of current development). Later technical descriptions, where recorded, are dated separately below. Source review does not establish current availability or a deployment.
