Stable Salt Reactor - Thermal Spectrum (SSR-U with optional SSR-Th blanket)
Moltex Energy's static-fuelled, graphite-moderated thermal molten salt reactor, listed in the IAEA's 2018 SMR booklet as SSR-U with an optional thorium breeding blanket (SSR-Th): 750 MWt and 300 MWe as a baseload plant, or 900 MWe as a peaking plant using thermal storage. Not the existing fast-spectrum SSR-W, and not shown to be the later 40 MWt SSR-U of MoltexFLEX. This dated design profile does not establish current development, a deployment site or any regulatory permission.
