Legal and geographic scope

The governor requests that the Illinois Power Agency and the Illinois Commerce Commission, within 60 days and after consulting other agencies as appropriate, issue a notice of inquiry to potential developers of new nuclear generation that would benefit residential ratepayers. The request covers information such as capacity and technology, financing, sites, and timing. The order recites other statutes. Those statutes were not opened.

Not approved or still pending

The 60-day period is not converted to a date. The notice of inquiry, if issued, was not opened. The order's recital that another law lifted a nuclear restriction is not treated as the text of that law; the General Assembly site could not be opened. The order does not permit the Valmeyer proposal or any other plant.
