Legal and geographic scope

Executive order titled Creating Economic Opportunity and Securing Indiana's Energy Future Through Advanced Nuclear Development. It directs the Secretary of Energy and Natural Resources to establish the Nuclear Indiana Coalition as an ongoing effort to advance nuclear energy and small modular reactors in Indiana and to attract supply partners. The coalition is to explore federal programmes that reduce deployment cost, address regulatory constraints and coordination with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, engage developers, utilities and large electricity consumers, develop state-level policies and assess feasibility, streamline permitting, including pursuing state primacy on federal permitting programmes, and provide education and outreach. The order number and the signature date are not legible in the copy opened; the Office of Energy Development's December 2025 annual report gives the number and an issue date of 10 April 2025. The text after the start of the coalition's membership list was not readable.

Not approved or still pending

The order creates a coalition and directs coordination. It does not license, fund or site a reactor. Pursuing state primacy on federal permitting is a direction to pursue it, not a grant of primacy. No effective date separate from the issue date was read. No project is linked.
