Capital Power and Ontario Power Generation assessment of grid-scale SMRs for Alberta
Capital Power and Ontario Power Generation agreed in January 2024 to jointly assess developing and deploying grid-scale small modular reactors in Alberta, including ownership and operating structures. Capital Power's 2025 annual information form says the first funded pre-feasibility phase is complete and the partners extended their collaboration for two more years, no site, reactor design or order is recorded.
