EDF, Nuward and Edison NUWARD SMR partnership for Italy (second-of-series plant targeted by 2035)

EDF plans a first series of ten NUWARD SMRs in France, Italy, Poland, Belgium and Finland, with construction from 2030. In September 2026 EDF, Nuward and Edison presented the design with Italian industry, which had signed a declaration of interest in June 2026, and set an objective of a second plant in Italy operating by 2035. No Italian site or order is recorded.
