Aecon and Norsk Kjernekraft strategic cooperation on BWRX-300 SMRs in Norway (2025)

Aecon, a contractor on Canada's first BWRX-300 at Darlington, and Norwegian developer Norsk Kjernekraft signed a strategic cooperation agreement in November 2025 focused on the GE Vernova Hitachi BWRX-300. It aims at a roadmap for feasibility studies, licensing, stakeholder management and site identification. It does not assign the design to any of Norsk Kjernekraft's specific project sites.
