SINAP small modular thorium molten-salt research reactor (10 MWe)
Small modular thorium molten-salt research reactor of the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, described in the siting-stage environmental assessments published by China's ecology ministry. The January 2026 resubmission gives 10 MWe and 30 MWt; the July 2024 edition gave 10 MWe and 60 MWt, so the thermal rating changed between editions and the earlier figure is kept here as history. The developer and the National Energy Administration call it small modular. It is a research facility, distinct from the operating 2 MWt TMSR-LF1 and from the 100 MWt demonstration that remains programme context.
