Ontario Power Generation and New York Power Authority memorandum on advanced nuclear, including SMRs (2025)

On 19 December 2025 NYPA and OPG signed a memorandum establishing a framework for collaboration on advanced nuclear technologies, including large reactors and SMRs, covering information sharing, financing and economics, and workforce development. Governor Hochul and Premier Ford separately signed a declaration of intent on cooperation. The memorandum selects no technology, site or project.

Not a deployment project. SMR plans, agreements, studies and government programmes that are not (yet) a single deployment project. They are listed separately and are never counted as projects or reactors.
