Indonesia's first nuclear power programme: 2 x 250 MWe in the RUPTL 2025-2034, with SMR technology planned

Indonesia's national electricity plans (RUKN and PLN's RUPTL 2025-2034) target a 250 MWe nuclear plant each in the Sumatra and Kalimantan systems with commercial operation in 2034, and ANTARA reports that Indonesia plans to use SMR technology at both locations. BAPETEN is preparing a strategic environmental assessment for the programme and reports pre-licensing talks with three unnamed vendors. No site, vendor, licence or construction has been decided.
