Yantai nuclear seawater desalination project (NHR200-I, 2003)

Historical heat-only proposal. INET's 2019 presentation to an IAEA INPRO meeting, by the director of the NHR project division, lists a Yantai nuclear seawater desalination project as established in 2003 on the NHR200-I line, with the Daqing construction permit (1996) and the Shenyang heating project (2001), and before NHR200-II general design in 2006. INET's NHR200 page states that the Shandong nuclear seawater desalination project received state approval of its project proposal in March 2003. Unit count, thermal output and the site within Yantai are not stated, and no later construction or cancellation record was opened. The NHR-200 heating reactor is documented in IAEA-TECDOC-965 among small reactor designs, which is the historical basis for inclusion. No design profile is linked. The record is separate from the Shenyang project, the Daqing project, the Haiyang integrated small reactor and the 2018 CNNC Yantai proposals.
