Dual Fluid critical demonstration experiment in Rwanda
Demonstration reactor, not a power plant. The Rwanda Atomic Energy Board describes the CDE as the functional prototype of the DF300 SMR, a minimal critical configuration operating for at most two years; its initial safety assessment review began in February 2025. Press reporting places it at a planned research campus in Nyamata. The 2026 operation target is not confirmed.
