SRC initial eVinci demonstration proposal (cancelled)
The Government of Saskatchewan's 27 November 2023 announcement funded SRC to license and deploy an initial Westinghouse eVinci microreactor in Saskatchewan, with the location to follow regulatory processes and operation targeted for 2029. In 15 April 2026 legislative testimony, SRC said Westinghouse had cancelled that eVinci project and SRC had paused its broader reactor-installation effort while following other technologies. Cancellation here is attributed to that testimony about the specific SRC proposal, not the eVinci design worldwide. The 2029 date and generic design capabilities are not achieved plant output. A site, project-specific operator, construction or operating permission, and later restart are not established by these sources.
