Stratek Global announced in July 2025 that the owners of Zilkaats Estate, near De Wildt, had offered land for an HTMR-100 pebble-bed reactor (100 MWt, 35 MWe). Environmental assessment and licensing had not begun; Stratek said construction could start within two years pending approval and financing.
