CNEC / Zheneng Sanmen HTGR power station
In 2017 a CNEC HTR Holdings and Zheneng joint venture obtained site-selection and land pre-review replies for an HTGR power station in Sanmen county, and its pre-feasibility study passed review; Chinergy named Sanmen among HTR-PM600 feasibility sites. A November 2024 county plan still lists a long-term planned HTGR station, but current status is only planning-level.
