Huakun One floating reactor platform demonstration at the Taipingling site

Floating platform demonstration. The November 2025 siting-stage environmental assessment accepted by China's ecology ministry on 2 December 2025 describes one compact pressurised-water reactor of 200 MWt and about 50 MWe with two turbine-generators on a platform to be moored at a new operations base in the harbour basin of CGN's Taipingling site in Huidong county, Huizhou, owned by CGN Ocean Energy. The assessment says the start date will be set at an appropriate time; no regulator siting opinion has been found. The National Energy Administration's July 2026 report cites the same floating reactor. Its relationship to CGN's earlier ACPR50S programme is not stated in the assessment, and the separate Bohai ACPR50S proposal remains its own record.
