Norilsk land small nuclear plant (RITM-400)
Planned land-based small nuclear plant for the isolated Norilsk power system. Russia's December 2024 General Scheme to 2042 lists RITM-400 blocks at Norilsk as cumulative installed capacity: one block of 80 MW in 2032, two (160 MW) in 2034, three (240 MW) in 2036 and four (320 MW) from 2037; gross or net is not stated. Implementation depends on consumer agreements fixing volumes and prices, or another supply arrangement. Rosatom named a RITM-400 plant as its priority option in a 2023 agreement of intent with Nornickel; the reactor is described as an 80-90 MW pressurised water reactor developed by OKBM Afrikantov. No site within Norilsk, host acceptance or procurement is published.
