Studsvik new nuclear at the Nyköping home site
Studsvik applied to the Swedish Government in May 2026 to build up to 1,400 MW of new nuclear power (two to four light-water reactors) at its Nyköping home site. The September 2026 BWRX-300 agreement covers this site and Valdemarsvik. The capacity ceiling is not stored as a plant total. Valdemarsvik (prj-knxt-valdemarsvik) is the alternative site for the initial four-unit BWRX-300 project; only one of the two will host it.
