19 recorded developments dated March 2026: 3 permission or environmental decisions, 4 applications, 6 project developments, 1 announcement, 5 policy steps.
Entries are placed by their recorded date, not by when SMRMap added them. Entries dated only to a quarter or year are not assigned to a month. Each entry is dated when the development happened unless its label says otherwise, such as “Announced” or “Report dated”. A date recorded only to a month, quarter or year is shown that way. Targets are plans, not achievements or commitments.

· Application submitted
Application submitted: Swedish Government approval application for a nuclear facility at Målma, Valdemarsvik #
Refirm Målma AB applied on 23 March 2026 for the Government's approval of a nuclear facility at Målma in Valdemarsvik municipality, the first application under the new law; on 7 May 2026 the Government assigned the Östergötland county administrative board to draft a facility plan. It is an application under the Act on the Government's approval of nuclear facilities (SFS 2026:585), which the Government's status page of 2 October 2026 lists as under preparation. Approval needs municipal consent and a facility plan in force; it would replace the Environmental Code permissibility review but not licensing under the Environmental Code and the Nuclear Activities Act. No approval, licence or construction is established.
· Site permission recorded
Site permission recorded: Permit to use the site for nuclear installations (Farish district NPP site) #
Regulator's own news item dated 4 June 2026 states the permit was issued on 23 March 'of the current year'. Site permit covers the NPP site (RITM-200N and VVER units share it per Rosatom); the item does not give a permit number.
